Forrester Park Golf Club

10:40am Saturday 3rd January 2009

MORE than 100 vets turned out, wearing various items of Christmas clothing, for the 12-hole Christmas Stableford, played with two clubs and a putter. The field was split into two starting on the first and ninth tees which meant there were two winners. On the first tee Steve Badjonat had the best round of the day scoring 25 points. David Reynolds beat Peter Harrison for second place on count back, both with 23 points. Peter Waknell was the best of the ninth tee starters with 23 points and another count back decided that Neil McIntyre was second and Peter Triston third, both with 21 points. The result was almost academic as all the players received a prize of similar value. The competition was followed by a noisy convivial Christmas lunch. A raffle on the day produced nearly £500 for the Little Haven Children’s Hospice.
